Devon Energy's Barnett Shale Bet Pays Off
The following Star-Telegram article highlights Devon Energy's Barnett Shale drilling success. The article also examines in closer detail the Benbrook Federal 12 acre drill site in SW Tarrant County that will be home to 35 wells when drilling is completed in March of 2012. EPA proposes emissions cuts for oil, gas operations
A proposed regulation by the EPA may result in more "green completions" of future gas wells, as well as older wells that are slated for re-fracture. The plan aims at reducing emissions not only at the well site, but to facilities such as processing plants, compressor stations and storage tanks located at the well sites. The EPA applauds this proposed measure stating that "the regulation would not only curb harmful emissions, but save the gas industry tens of millions of dollars annually from the value of natural gas that would no longer escape in the air."
