By a better than a 2 to 1 margin, poll participants felt that hydraulic fracturing was/is environmentally safe. However, the heated debate continues on this controversial method of releasing trapped natural gas from shale rock. The controversy is over the contents of the frac fluids, and the possible damage they could cause when not disposed of properly. The results of the month long poll are are shown below.
