Chesapeake's Edgecliff Drilling
Site of numerous Edgecliff permitted gas drills; including the D 1-H, 3-H and 5-H units, and the completed B 1-H unit.
Mountain Drilling Company continues the D 5-H drill. As mentioned in another post this type of rig employs an automated pipe handling system.
These transfer lines are being used to fracture an adjacent unit. This highly controversial method of releasing the gas from the shale has been both applauded and criticized. Range Production's Fred Davis #1 Unit
This vertical well drilled by Range in the Denton County Barnett was completed in January 2007. The drillbit penetrated to a depth of 10,000 feet, beneath this rolling pasture land.

Quicksilver's LD/Dutch Gray Unit
Union Drilling pushes pipe at Quicksiver's Gray 1-H unit in Hill County. The rig is on HCR 1120 approx. 2 miles NW of Blum, TX. This is currently the only drill in Hill county.
