The New York Times and natural gas: Don’t facts matter any more?

Exxon Mobil, America's largest natural gas producer weighs in on the highly controversial subject of shale gas exploration. ExxonMobil also delivers a stinging PERSPECTIVE in response to a recent New York Times article that questions America's vast shale gas resources, and likens shale gas plays to investing in giant "Ponzi" schemes. The article was based on "piles of emails" from industry sources and the EIA.

CHESAPEAKE ENERGY Blasts New York Times Article as Inaccurate and Misleading

Chesapeake Energy responded today to an article published in the Sunday, June 26, 2011 edition of the New York Times. That article was posted yesterday on this blog. Aubrey McClendon, Chesapeake's CEO defends his company and claims "The Times story was obviously motivated by an anti-natural gas agenda."

Drought threatens drilling in South Texas' Eagle Ford Shale | Barnett Shale | Dallas Bus...

Ongoing drought conditions could mean tough times for natural gas drilling. Fracturing gas wells takes a lot of water. Because of it's geological formation it takes almost 4 times as much water to frac a well in the Eagle Ford Shale than a well drilled in the Barnett Shale of N. Texas.

RIGZONE - Carrizo Adds Eagle Ford Acreage

Carrizo O&G has increased it's mineral interest holdings in S. Texas' Eagle Ford Shale. The company moved their last Barnett Shale rig to Dimmit County, TX to drill the Ivey Ranch 10H until it can be replaced with a new rig in December of this year.
